Benefits of live in and 24 hour care

Constant peace of mind

Live in and 24 hour in-home care provides peace of mind, knowing that a Caregiver or Nurse is always on hand to ensure safety and security.

One of our nurses is on call 24/7 for additional support.

Dedicated Care Manager & Care Team

Your loved one will have their own dedicated Care Manager, that will oversee their care and ensure their team of Caregivers share similar interests and values to your loved one. This will make life more enjoyable by supporting their emotional and psychological needs, in addition to their physical needs.

Their Care Manager will conduct frequent care plan reviews and assessments.

Privacy & dignity

Most people value discretion and privacy, especially those people who are well known in the community or nationally.

Unlike nursing homes, where there are frequently different staff, other residents and visitors, live in and 24 hour in-home care provide the maximum privacy, dignity and discretion your loved one deserves.

Familiar surroundings

Familiarity is vital for people with progressive illnesses, such as Dementia or impaired vision. Keeping your loved one in their own home maintains that familiarity.

Your loved one may have a spouse or partner that would not be able to move into a nursing home with them. By having care in their home, they can remain together and ease the caring responsibility of their spouse/partner.

Home is best

Nothing compares to the comfort and safety of one's own home. Your loved one's home and belongings are a trove of treasured memories, thus having care in their home gives them the support they need to continue living the life they want, where they want. As opposed to having to fit into the routine of a nursing home.

Live in and 24 hour in-home support eliminates the stress of leaving their home, selling their house and moving into a nursing home.

Pet care

The thought of your loved one having to give up their pet in order to move into a nursing home can cause them great distress and low mood.

With live in and 24 hour in-home care, our team of dedicated Caregivers can help care for any pets your loved one may have. This will enable their relationship with their beloved pet to continue, which in turn will bring them great comfort and joy.

Holistic & multidisciplinary approach

We take a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to caring for our clients. We work and liaise with your loved one's GP, specialised doctors, hospitals, OT's and any other Health Professionals to ensure your loved one is getting the optimum level of care they require and deserve.

Our Care Managers can also make referrals to Allied Health Professionals as required.

Stay connected with family and friends

Nursing Homes often have visitor limits and restrictions on visiting hours. Some older people find it confronting visiting a nursing home.

By providing care in your loved one's home, it enables them to stay close to their family and friends and remain part of their community. Social engagements can continue as usual.

Compassionate care & companionship

Our Caregivers can provide assistance with personal care, help around the house, meal preparation, shopping, light exercises and transporting your loved one to appointments or social gatherings.

Your loved one can keep to their own routine, rather than 'fit-in' with the schedule of a nursing home.

These two care options also provide consistent companionship and emotional support for your loved one.

Live in versus 24 Hour in home care

Live in care

  • Your loved one needs more than 6 hours support a day.
  • Our Caregivers are present in your loved one's home and provide up to 10 hours of active support in a 24 hour period.
  • Live in care is usually provided by a team of two Caregivers; each Caregiver will live with your loved one for 3-4 days and then rotate.
  • Live in care is flexible, it can be from a few days to seven days a week or to provide respite for a family carer. For example, your loved one has live in Caregivers during the week and their family provide the care at weekends.
  • Our Caregivers require a separate room with a bed and full board during their shift. When their block of shifts are finished, the Caregiver leaves the house.
  • Live in care is charged on a daily basis as opposed to an hourly rate. This is more economical than 24 hour in-home care.
  • There is no 'lock-in' contract. You can cancel the service at anytime with giving 24 hour notice.

  • 24 hour in home care

  • Your loved one requires more than 8-10 hours support in a 24 hour period.
  • Your loved one needs care around the clock at varying times which are difficult to anticipate. 24 hour in-home care means the Caregiver is always ready to respond to your loved one's needs, any wandering, assistance with toileting, preparing meals, pain management or any emergency.
  • 24 hour in-home care is usually provided by a team of five to seven Caregivers and/or Nurses. Due to the higher care needs of your loved one, the 24 hour period is usually split into 3 shifts. Shift start times can be adjusted to best suit your family requirements.
  • Our Caregivers are awake and available throughout the night. This can be beneficial for people who have Dementia and tend to sundown, thus are more unsettled in the evening/during the night or for older people who have nocturia (frequent urination at night).
  • Our Caregivers do not live in the home and do not require a separate room or bed.
  • 24 hour in-home care is also very suited to people in Palliative Care or End of Life Care, who require active support 24 hours a day.
  • There is no 'lock-in' contract. You can cancel the service at anytime with giving 24 hour notice.

  • Is your family considering in-home care?
